Anxiety, Time & Meditating

How do you respond to anxiety?   Do you start eating or drinking more?

Setting aside time to meditate  can be a challenge because anxiety and stress are experienced so strongly in the physical.  Sitting quietly seems impossible because you are tormented by thoughts of what you could be doing that would be more productive. You decide meditation is not working for you, that it’s a waste of time.

However, when guided through a meditation with a teacher, you are supported in slowing down to breathe and let your stormy thoughts become calm and clear.  It takes patience, practice and perseverance. Eventually your perspective changes and you realize your anxiety has positive attributes.  In calming the mind and body, you begin to see a light at the end of your tunnel.

Let the wisdom of your anxiety lead you to the path of meditation.

Come meditate with us this week where we explore the topic of anxiety and meditation.  Drop In Meditation
