Does Attitude affect Gratitude?
Your attitude has a direct affect on the sincerity of your gratitude.
It is easy to be grateful for wonderful things like the air you breathe, your job, family, and friends. But it is not as easy to practice gratitude for everything, especially those challenging times in your life, because your mind and emotions create a field of resistance to seeing the lessons or messages in the experience. Eventually though everyone comes to understand gratitude is something far greater than thoughts and feelings.
Gratitude is the sincere expression of appreciation and thankfulness for what you….
- have in the present moment
- experienced in the past
- has yet to come
When you are in a sincere state of gratitude you can express your appreciation to everything and everyone you encounter. You practice saying “thank you” for both happy and challenging experiences.
To understand gratitude with your heart is to understand that every experience is one you experience with equality, whether you are taking things for granted and feeling entitled, jealous or greedy, appreciative, accepting, satisfied or loving.
As difficult as it may sound, when you experience life as spirit first, you practice gratitude in every moment.
