Are you having difficulty making up your mind? Are you putting off starting something new? Fear is one of the biggest reasons we don’t start something new, or put off a brilliant idea until later. Later rarely, if ever arrives. Eventually we look at our life and wonder what would have happened if….
Fear about making the wrong decision is one of the primary reasons we don’t act. This does not mean we have permission to act irrationally, making decisions without thinking things through. Identifying fear as the underlying reason we are being held hostage by a limitation is the beginning of changing our thought process and energy field. When we realize fear is holding us back and make a conscious decision to do something anyway, we transcend fear.
Fear is learned. We learn to stay safe through fear…fear of being hit a car if crossing the street recklessly, burned when we touch fire. We witness horrendous, fearful events through news, movies and media. We learn through observation and decide we would not want something awful to happen to us. This information leaves a subtle imprint on our thought process, and rests within our energy centers, our chakras. The tightness in we feel in our chest or stomach is fear or anxiety and is easily misunderstood as “I should not do this”. Here we have allowed fear, not love, to be the driving force in our decision making process.
Because fear is learned it can be unlearned. By taking a step into the direction that frightens us, such as public speaking, telling someone something difficult, asking someone out, or taking a business risk, we transcend fear. When we transcend fear we are no longer held hostage by it. We act with conscious awareness, knowing we are experiencing the experience of fear with spiritual seniority. We use positive encouraging self talk and deep breathing. Everyone experiences fear in different forms in different areas of their life. It’s still simply the energy of fear.
How to Identify Fear
- Are you afraid of leaving someone or something behind, losing money, etc?
- Are you afraid of the physical or emotional pain you may experience?
- Do you feel a tightness in chakras, feel sick, or restricted?
- Do you try to start something and find it difficult to follow through?
Change your perspective
- What thought pattern can you change?
Examples:
“I can’t do this because” to “I can do this by…” or “I will do this” or “I am doing this”
“They won’t like me” to “I am loved and loving” - Use empowering language such as “I can handle this”
Share your fear with someone you TRUST
- Sharing your fears with someone trustworthy and neutral, offers support and releases the hold fear has on you. Shame and guilt are cousins to fear and judgment, making us feeling like we have done or are doing something wrong, and that others will judge us negatively.
Honour the support others give you to grow
- Use the opportunities that help you expand and transcend your fears.
- What would you share if you weren’t afraid of what others would think or say?
- What would you do if money didn’t matter?
- What would you be doing if the fear wasn’t standing between you and you accessing your highest potentiality?
Whatever you are working through right now is small compared to your light and potentiality. What other people think about you is irrelevant, and none of your business. Focus on your strengths and ability to give birth to your dreams and ideas. There are more people in the world ready to stand beside you than you can imagine. Every decision you make is the ‘right’ one. Learn from your creations.
