Insights: Healing Resistance with Meditation – Oct. 2011;
by Regina Kaiser –
Resistance is learned through life experiences. It can therefore be unlearned. Resistance creates a lack of flow, a frozen, uncomfortable quality to our energy field. We feel this charge at the edge of our aura which we pull in closer around our body. Or we feel a heaviness or tightness in one area of our aura, particularly the edge. Resistance restricts your energy flow and foreign energy sticks to this ‘hardness’.
Admitting we are experiencing resistance begins to transform our energy field. Resistance must be shifted on an energy level first, before change is experienced in life. It is difficult to learn from our experiences, and admit we have made a mistake when our emotions are heavy, and we cannot hear what others are telling us. Here our resistance holds us hostage, so to speak.
The benefits of non-resistance include living life relaxed with ease and flow. When our energy is vibrating with ease, we enjoy contact with others, learn from our ‘mistakes’, and act with self-control.
When we are in resistance we are controlled externally, react rather than respond, our emotions are heavy, and we avoid contact with others. Who has not had the experience of not wanting to bump into someone and there they are, right in your face. This is because resistance creates a field of energy that attracts that which we resist. That which we resist persists. This is Spirit calling attention to our resistance, and the opportunity to shift our reality.
Learning to shift resistance to non-resistance and ease takes practice with present moment awareness. We don’t always recognize we are in resistance until after the fact. This is perfectly fine, as we can still heal the memory in the present moment.
Common scenarios where we experience resistance include resistance to changes in our life, being told us something we don’t want to hear, or avoiding someone or something.
Learn to shift your energy out of resistance by creating an aura of transparency and flow. Like sunlight streaming through glass, whatever energy is not your own will simply flow through your space. An energy field of non-resistance is clearly defined and flowing.
