Staying Positive for Back to School

The September morning air is crisper and the daylight hours are starting to get shorter. Depending on where you grew up it may bring back memories of going back to school and getting back to the basics.

With summer vacation over teachers, parents and kids prepare for another school year. Others return to their regular jobs with perhaps more working from home. This year we are all aligning with the new covid pandemic safety protocols in some way. This is a time to be compassionate.

Teachers, parents and kids are especially affected by the changes in returning to school.

With uncertainty and fear it becomes harder and harder to see this year as an exciting fresh start. Listening with an open heart and mind can be exhausting. There are so many things to consider.

What if we could each see the new, and changing protocols as a continuous fresh start?

What would this experience be like if we could each reduce fears and anxiety, and see this year as exciting?

Staying Positive and Energized

  • This is a time to be compassionate and supportive to everyone.
  • No two experiences are the same. Yet many may have similar concerns.
  • It is important to validate every concern and be supportive.

Let’s support each other.

A few deep breaths and it becomes easier to speak up about concerns and listen with an open heart and mind. Kindness is so powerful that it brings instant relief. Just think about a time when you were perhaps rattled and anxious and you connected with someone kind. Their presence basically sent a big ‘yes to you, I see you’.

This week at Loving Kindness Online Meditation we nourish a fresh start of encouragement, excitement and safety for ourselves, teachers, kids, parents, grandparents, and all humankind. Together we are the change we seek to see in the world.
