The Importance of Community
February Insights 2025
I had the pleasure of teaching an advanced meditation on-line series this past January. It was so inspiring to be part of this community of souls who have studied with me for so many years. Please do not consider advanced better than, but rather acknowledge these souls they have devoted themselves to a course of studies in conscious living and have grown into a community of caring. Belonging to a community or ‘tribe’ is like having a family of connection and support.
Being Part of a Community
Being part of a community provides a feeling of belonging, where individuals are seen, heard and valued. In our meditation community, this connection deepens personal and spiritual growth by nurturing inspiration, accountability, emotional support, shared wisdom, encouragement and a safe space for transformation. Through shared experiences, you become a member, and feel less alone on your journey, reinforcing inner/outer peace, resilience and a greater sense of purpose. There is a warm, welcoming feeling when you are recognized and met with a smile and authentic ‘hello’. This is my wish for you in each of the workshops, classes, courses or series created at Veracis.
Here are 4 Key Essentials to Be Part of a Community
- Willingness to Connect
- A desire to participate with like-minded individuals.
- An openness to give and receive support.
- Shared Values or Interests
- Align with the purpose or intention of the community.
- Feel a sense of belonging through common goals (mindfulness, personal/spiritual growth, healing).
- Participation & Engagement
- Attend events, discussions, or group activities.
- Contribute in a way that feels right, whether through presence, sharing experiences, or supporting others.
- Respect & Reciprocity
- Honour the space and energy of others.
- Recognize a thriving community is built on mutual care and contribution.
Becoming part of a community requires openness, participation, and a sense of shared purpose. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been away for a while, or if you only wish to participate now and again. You will always feel like you belong at Veracis.
