Reduce Anxiety during Covid Stress

I’ve written and presented about anxiety in the past and find myself revisiting the topic regularly. It bring awareness back to creating inner peace and calm. This is especially true as covid numbers and uncertainty are rising.  I am drawn to reconnecting to this delicate topic.

Here’s what I experience. I feel anxious when there is more to do than I can realistically accomplish or if there is more bad news than good news. I feel a sense of heaviness and like I’m being squeezed. My mood shifts and I get snappy. Or I curl up and hide from everything, quietly hoping it will all go away. Does this sound familiar to you?

I have learned to use my quiet meditation time to realign with the peaceful spirit I am, just like you. It’s during this stillness that I feel replenished, clear and calm. My smile returns and there’s a sparkle in my eyes. The people around me also become more relaxed.  I’d say that’s a sign I’m on the right path.   There are other ways to reduce anxiety.

3 Steps to Reduce Anxiety

  1. Take a happiness break every day. Doing something that makes you feel good replenishes your soul.
  2. Do something that takes your mind off whatever is causing you to feel anxious. Overthinking causes anxiety so give your mind a break and think about something else, or do something for someone else. If your anxiety is caused by too many things to do, make a list and check off as you go. Consider asking for help.
  3. Run your energy. Running your energy is experienced when meditating as your vital flow increases to clear out the heaviness and excess energy.

There many different ways we experience anxiety.

Everyone has some form of anxiety at some time in their life. There are many ways to manage anxiety.  Finding what works for you requires trying different things. Just keep going and create your personal toolkit for reducing anxiety in a healthy way.
