Happy New Year!

From all of us at
Veracis Wellness Centre

We wish you a peaceful, prosperous, and healthy new year. For us this time means a chance to leave the old behind and a chance at a New Beginning.

You have done what you could—some blunders and absurdities have crept in. Forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.  – Ralph Waldo Emerson

It is with this sage advice in mind that we offer up some tips at starting your new year off by making YOU a priority – for a healthy and balanced mind, body, and soul.

1. Establish a Plan

It’s easy to focus too much energy (time & money) on things you don’t want.  It’s equally easy to make reasonable, sound choices and stick to your plan. When you make a commitment to yourself and you join a group of others with a similar commitment then you are more likely to stick to your plan.

We believe meditation and yoga, combined with nurturing self care will give you the results you want. Let us help you create a plan that works for you.

2. Shift your Mind – Meditate

Meditation will change your life in subtle ways, like ripples in a still lake.

Change is guaranteed, but it’s hard to predict just what kind of change you’re likely to create and experience. You can expect to improve concentration, mindfulness and compassion, all of which are already inside you.  A lot depends on you, what your life is like, how willing you are to grow, and what draws you to meditation in the first place.

Nicole, one of our Certified Veracis Meditation Teachers narrowed it down to this:There are 2 types of people & 2 ways they want to meditate.

Which one are you?

1. You’re dedicated to your personal growth, you want to explore the benefits of meditation in greater depth, and you are willing to make a commitment to yourself with instructional and experiential classes as offered throughVeracis Meditation Course of Studies (one level at a time, at a pace that suits you).

2. You want an easy, gentle, guided meditation to help you feel good for the rest of the week. You may have trouble meditating on your own at home, but mostly you want flexibility within a supportive class.  You are willing to make a commitment to yourself with Meditation for Wellness (ongoing classes).

You can be both!

“They take time to get to know their clients and provide a variety of innovative ways to get healthy, find balance and take care of ourselves.”

“I hope everyone who sits in your classes is rewarded as much as I have been in the last year. I fully believe that without them, I would not be nearly as healthy and happy as I am today.”

3. Move Mindfully – Yoga

Not only will yoga improve your mood, sleep habits and overall health, but yoga in a class setting will give you the personalized support you need to challenge yourself safely, while connecting you regularly with others on a similar path, in a mindful way.

Starting Yoga for the first time can be intimidating especially if you think you need to be flexible or thin. This is simply not true. There are many different types of yoga; there will be at least one for you, your body type and your health needs.

What type of yoga is for you?

Are you new to yoga?
Do you currently exercise?
Do you have any health concerns?
Can you see yourself becoming flexible and agile?
Do you want to feel better?

4. Nourish Body, Mind, Soul

Shifting your Mind with  Meditation, and Moving Mindfully with Yoga, are the first 2 steps in creating a balanced self care plan. Your body and mind work hard!  And your body holds your emotions as stress and tension. It is vital you allow yourself to RECEIVE.
