September carries the energy of transition as we move from summer into fall, light into darkness, outward activity into inward reflection. Autumn brings us cooler mornings and warmer afternoons, leaves changing into vibrant colours before dropping.
Just as the seasons shift, we too are asked to find harmony between light and shadow, rest and action, letting go, inner stillness and outward expression. Fall brings us pumpkin spice, gratitude, Thanksgiving, sweaters and structure.
It is time to savour the remaining summer weeks and prepare to gracefully slide into autumn as we let go to embrace the new once again.
Getting Back on Track
Getting back into a familiar routine is easier than creating a new one. Creating and honouring space for the mind, body and soul connection becomes easier when we are accountable and look forward to what is coming. This is especially important for things you want to introduce, such as a daily, weekly, or monthly meditation, a fitness program like yoga, cardio or weight training.
Our busy lives become the reason we procrastinate, anticipating early burnout that comes when we’ve over committed. There is wisdom in not over committing. But it is even more important to ask yourself what is the price for not making space for a balanced mind, body and soul?
There is always enough room to do what you really want to do.
Through meditation, mindfulness and movement, we can anchor ourselves in this balance, strengthening both clarity and calm as we move into autumn.
