Have you noticed how long lineups, traffic congestion, and the holidays affect your well-being?
They become unwelcome stressors in your life, causing you to feel impatient. We rush from one thing to another finding we don’t seem to have the time for everything!
I would normally approach patience by exploring the cause of impatience. However, perhaps we need more strategic tools to use to become more patient first. Then our ‘core reason’ for feeling impatient can reveal itself.
4 Ways to stay Patient
- Be Present. Bring yourself into the Present Moment. Stop getting ahead of yourself and blaming other people for the way you feel. If you are frustrated, be present with the experience and let it release for peace. Let your presence reveal itself.
- Wait More. Allow yourself to wait more… give yourself the gift of waiting for a few minutes between all the rushing. This alone will retrain you to breathe, allow and accept.
- Accept. The next time you are caught in a long line up and pressed for time, accept there are things in life you cannot control. Is there anything you could have done differently such as leave earlier next time, or maybe not squeeze in a last minute job that pushed you into leaving later than you thought?
- Compassion. Practice compassion towards yourself and others. When you change the way you perceive the situation you change your experience.
This week we start our Holiday Calm Classes at Veracis. Here you can step out of your hectic life and receive support in creating patience and calm so you can enjoy the holidays as spirit first.
