After almost three weeks vacationing in northern BC, and Haida Gwaii, I am slowly finding my way back to work. A combination of camping and hotels made the journey more than comfortable as we dodged the rain and smokey skies from the fires burning in BC.
Our destination was Sgang Gwaay, a village site of the Haida people and part of the Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site in Haida Gwaii.
A float plane and zodiac trip later we were met by a watchman Ben Hans who shared the history of the totem poles and Haida people. We strolled back to our waiting zodiac through a sacred moss covered forest. A deeply spiritual place, the time flew….
And can you believe it is already August? Summer is flying by and we’re about to enter a heat wave. This is a time to slow down, cool off and stay hydrated. I’m excited about our August line up of OMYO classes here at Veracis.
Great pictures, Regina. Looks like an amazing holiday!!
