When your inner landscape is calm then you are ready for anything! But when do you slip out of calm into frustration or irritation? Is it when you are running late and get a slow driver? Or maybe by the time you get home you’re tired and find yourself easily triggered by loved ones.
It is natural to have emotional responses that don’t always feel good. It is unhealthy to push those emotions down inside yourself because you believe they are negative. Every emotion has meaning and purpose for your own soul’s evolution. Of course you want to feel good and be surrounded by others who are happy. Not too many of us wake up and say we want to be annoyed and hang out with other annoyed people! Yet that is what happens when we don’t acknowledge the emotion we are experiencing in the present moment. The mere acknowledgement of your feeling shows you are invested in healing so you can bring your authentic self to every relationship.
Even more important is to surround yourself with others you can trust to support you as you move through any emotion you are feeling….any emotion. These people will lift you and encourage you through anything. They will let you know you sound angry and help you uncover you t
rue calm, peaceful self – because they respect you and themselves.
You can find people like this in meditation classes. Here you can learn ways to understand your own journey while sharing it with others. Nothing beats that ‘aha’ moment when you realize the answers are inside you and you are a peaceful spirit in a human body with the right to be calm and happy.
