How do I Stay Focused on Intention?

Let’s define intention so we understand that we are on the same page.  Spirit defines our core essence and intention.   Intention is what we learn along the way to achieving a desired outcome or goal.  This could be a 5 or 10 year plan, a daily list of things to do, exercising, playing or anything that you want to create in the future.  Intention is less about the outcome or goal than it is about what we learn along the way. With this in mind, consider where you are in the creative process of change.

  • Are you enthusiastic and motivated?
  • Can you see your goal?
  • Are you attached to the outcome?
  • Are you starting to feel discouraged or anxious?
  • What kind of support do you have in place?
  • Do you use daily affirmations?

These are questions you can ask yourself daily, before or after meditating.  Whenever we start something new we experience an exhilaration and enthusiasm that feels great.  We are excited when we wake up in the morning and are motivated throughout the day.  But if days go by without some form of gratification or measurement of growth, we may find ourselves feeling discouraged.

This is the point where we can change our future, by setting our intention.  How we align with our intention will have a direct effect on the outcome.  If we become critical or judgmental, and throw in the towel, so to speak, then we may find ourselves on a repeat pattern.  We may feel unsuccessful, or like a failure.  We may decide we did the best we could.  How we accept ourselves at this point will create either new karma or keep us on the repeat cycle.

If we want to change karma, we need to change the way we think and act, so we can transform the old patterns.

When we accept we are a peaceful spirit in a human body, then we understand there are things we need to do to grow that challenge staying the same.  Invite discipline into your life with ease and flow, opening yourself to new experiences and new beginnings.  Intention is a driving force of love.  Let it find you.
