Letting go continues to be one of the hardest spiritual lessons. Interestingly, letting go of something you don’t want is easier. You experience relief and joy when it’s gone or done. Now what if you could harness that same vibration for letting go more often? I am not saying it’s time to let go of something you are not ready to let go of. Why is it so hard to let go?
We spend most of our life creating a sense of security. This includes careers, homes, families, friends, savings and more. We like knowing we have a safe place to go where we can relax, and let go. But slowly we grow attached and attachment is what make it hard to let go.
Attachment
From a spiritual perspective attachment is conditional. Attachment seeks to hold on with a fear of losing control. A question to ask yourself is “Who am I without my job, friends, family, identity, house, money, and other things? You can see how quickly anxiety and fear set in when there is a threat to this sense of security.
Now, you don’t have to worry about losing everything you have. I wanted you to see how attachment quietly grows and remind you how it feels when something is gone that you weren’t prepared to lose. It hurts and that’s why it’s hard to let go. Because it hurts. How Letting Go Works

I return to the ease of letting go of something you no longer want and invite you to shift your perspective and discover the joy of letting go mindfully. Detachment doesn’t mean you don’t care. It means you love yourself and others without any expectation or need to control or be controlled.
