Forgiveness is the first step to healing as we learn to equally forgive ourselves and others.

Forgive for your own healing.

To forgive means letting go of past suffering and painful memories,  releasing the burden of pain, anger, hurt, and suffering.

Without forgiving your life becomes burdened, heavy; your are locked in the past.   Often you discover you are suffering from a past event while the other person has already moved on.  This is because you are hanging onto something and you have not forgiven. When you don’t forgive, you perpetuate resentment and uncomfortable feelings.

Forgiveness does not forget or condone the past.  

To forgive is to understand and heal the pain in our heart, and learn from our experience.  No matter how deep the trauma, we must find a way to heal our pain and move on.  Forgiveness does not excuse harmful actions.   When you forgive, you can tell yourself “I shall never again allow this to happen to me”.
