Spiritual Elimination Diet

As spring approaches, we naturally look forward to the fresh and warmer air. It is also time for spring cleaning, clearing the clutter, and the sign of new growth. I will have to wait a little longer for that new growth to physically appear in the garden as our winter is so much longer here. But it doesn’t matter what it is doing outside.

It matters most what is happening within you.

This brought me to the wonderful idea of a Spiritual Elimination Diet. Can you feel yourself feeling lighter already? That breath of fresh air feeling isn’t just there after you clear your home. It is for your body, mind and soul!

Especially important to me are internal thoughts and behaviour patterns that clearly no longer serve my well-being. These can include criticizing thoughts toward self and others, unmanaged emotions such as anger, not taking appropriate action, and blaming to name a few.

So, let’s see how we can integrate the elimination diet into our personal lives together by starting with a few collective approaches.

The five examples below are just a few ways to start your elimination diet and start radiating your loving light.

5 Ways to Eliminate

  1. Refrain from referring to ‘them’. Instead, start connecting with the ‘we’ that makes ‘us’ all part of the same world. This doesn’t mean forgetting about your own well-being or interests. It means relating to each other with happiness and compassion.
  2. Throw away your attachments to how you should look, act, or feel. It’s time to align with who you are in the present moment. If it doesn’t make you feel good about yourself, toss it! How Letting Go Works
  3. Stop criticizing or judging yourself or others. Just stop.
  4. Respond rather than react. Before you speak, ask yourself if your words are kind or even necessary. Use that pause to reflect on the possibility of having your own personal wounds that need some much-needed TLC.
  5. Neutralize the words spiritual, elimination, and diet. Honestly, just reading diet can send you spiraling down a negative rabbit hole!
